Another Free Llimb in Zion

Mike Anderson and Rob Pizem have added yet another desperate free climb in Zion National Park. Shake That Bear (5.12d R) ascends the steep face of Mt. Kinesava just to the left of King Corner seven of the route’s 11 pitches are 5.12.

Heard simone last night at 00:30 a.m. (italian time, 4:30 a.m. pakistan time) They was prepering for the summit push, that, so I suppose, is still going one...

Nicola Sartori and Nicola Tondini have made the first ascents of three new multi-pitches on Monte Cimo (Brentino, Val d'Adige, Italy). These are Vola via (8 pitches, max 8a+), Gioco di equilibri (5 pitches, max 7c+) and Via di testa (6 pitches, max 8b+, 7c obb).

Saint Vincent Award for mountain professionals

The winners of the first Saint Vincent Award for mountain professionals. were announced in Valle d'Aosta last Thursday. The winners for 2008 are Valery Babanov, Christophe Profit, Herve Barmasse, the Alpine Regiment Training Centre and Pemba Doma Sherpa. The Awards will be handed out on 7 March in Saint-Vincent, Valle d'Aosta, Italy.

Sierro Torre. Guys Climb Down

Valery Rozov, Denis Provalov, Alexander Ruchkin, Oleg Khvostenko and Alexander Lastochkin summited Sierro Torre at about 1pm (local time).

They lost a lot of time in exit search around summit but found nothing, a thick mist was rising.
