Georgian Mountain, Adventure and Extreme Film Festival

January – March 2005

DATES:

In January-March 2005, in Georgia (former Soviet Union) Tbilisi will host the second annual Mountain Film Festival “Niamori”. The partners are:

1. Georgian Climbing Federation (head Lado Gurchiani);
2. Club Mountain Traveler (head Zurab Kutchava);
3. Tbilisi’s State University Alpine Club

CATEGORIES :

There are 5 main categories (nominations):

1. Mountain expedition – high altitude and technical ascents;
2. Extreme – all kind of extreme sports (alpine, diving, rafting, mount backing, skiing, paragliding and other);
3. Rescuers – films about work of rescue teams in extreme situations;
4. Travelers - all kind of traveling and adventure films, hiking, trekking, sailing rises and others;
5. Man and Mountains – portraying mountain human, historical, social entity, mountain fauna, flora and music films

Regarding these main nominations there are also some special prizes.

• Public sympathy;
• The best cameramen;
• The best director;
• The best sound;
• The best scenario;
• The first step;
• The best head of expedition;
• The best non-georgian film;
• Sponsor’s special prize

The price found includes 5000 $

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND DATES:

The deadline for participant is February 5 , 2005 (at this particular time we need to have a tape with those films in Tbilisi). If you are interested about this festival we can also give you detailed information.

Entry regulations: we welcome all the films showing mountain life, culture and sport. We have the only limitation - the running time of the film mustn’t exceed 30 minutes. Also, it’s necessary that every film must be attached with written annotation is Russian and English languages and 3 photos about the film.

• The foreign participants must e-mail up to January 30, 2005;
• The film on DVD, BETACAM, DV-Cam must be delivered in Tbilisi not later than February 5, 2005
