Konstantin Savelyev, Saint Petersburg New photos after my recent trip to Crimea. It a separate story about my trip to the Crimea and I will write a short novel later, now I just want to tell that I've never traveled so sincere and cool despite of not good weather yet! Certainly, all of this was due to the people accompanied me. I managed to take photographs of some of them. And I would like to begin this publication with photos of Kostya Savelyev, one of the most talented rock-climbers of Saint Petersburg and Russia.
I know him of old. First time I met Kostya in Crimea in 1998 or so. Already then, he admired me with his climbing style. In spite of his yeasty years, he easily, for example, could send with no pre-clipped carabines Helicopter route (7ñ) in Nikita. We had fun a lot ganged up with another famous climber from Saint Petersburg Alexey Tselichshev over constant bottles of the Crimean wines: Port, Xeres, Madeira and others. Then I did not hear from him for a time and, at last, we met again last year in early May on holidays in the Crimea under the Red Stone. And in the summer when he was visiting Europe, we managed to climb together. I found out that he became even stronger against that old times. Deification of his summer trip became successful sending De leau de la - 8a in Verdon Onsight with no pre-clipped carabines and one more very complex 8à-line second go in La Roche de Rame. But rock-climbing is no laughing matter... Kostya is very sincere. I put high value on his skills to be a very interesting teller, to kindle common interest, to set the table in a roar by a good joke :) So, he's not boring, and it's the most important! |
